Typical electrical installation work in homes
Most installation jobs begin with a renovation. A kitchen refit suddenly calls for a dedicated circuit for the induction hob, more sockets above the worktop and lighting under the wall cabinets. Bathrooms are stricter still: Swedish rules divide the room into zones that decide what may be installed where, and both materials and workmanship have to be right from the start. And in the living room, you might finally want to retire the power strips behind the TV bench.
The other classic case is an older house where the wiring has not kept up. Ungrounded sockets, dry or cracked cable insulation and a consumer unit without a residual current device are all signs the installation needs attention. Sometimes targeted fixes are enough; sometimes a full rewire is the honest recommendation. We help you work out which – and what can safely wait.

How the work proceeds – five steps
The process is the same whether you need one new socket or a whole floor rewired: structured, with clear communication along the way and no surprises at the end.

- 3. Quote – you receive the scope of work described in advance, so you know what is included before anything starts.
- 4. Installation – a certified electrician carries out the work to current regulations and tests function, earthing and residual current devices.
- 5. Handover and documentation – we walk you through what was done, label the circuits in the consumer unit and leave paperwork worth keeping.
Good to know before you book
In Sweden, work on the fixed electrical installation may only be carried out by an authorised electrical installation company – and that includes seemingly small jobs such as moving a socket, adding a circuit or running cable in a wall. Changing a light bulb or resetting a tripped breaker is fine to do yourself; anything involving the fixed wiring is not. The Swedish Electrical Safety Board, Elsäkerhetsverket, publishes guidance on where the line goes.
Before a bigger job, think through how you actually live: where phones charge, where the desk will stand, where light is missing today. Bring the electrician in early in a renovation, before the walls are closed – it gives you more options and less patching afterwards. Private individuals can often use the Swedish ROT tax deduction, worth 30 percent of the labour cost; check the current conditions with Skatteverket, the Swedish Tax Agency.
